Hugo has worked in-house for the BBC and for many of the UK’s leading independent production companies, including Talkback Thames, Twenty Twenty, Lion TV, OSF and Oxford Film and TV. He has developed and produced numerous single films and series for British television, including the Grierson Award nominated series The Genius of British Art for Channel 4 and the Grierson Award-winning feature documentary The Love of Books:
A Sarajevo Story for BBC Storyville.

 

He recently produced Lost Worlds: Deeper into the Black Sea (Science Channel/SBS/Curiosity Stream), a landmark series filmed over three years exploring the depths of the Black Sea. He is currently in post on his debut feature film The Visitor, for Film London, BBC Films and the BFI and was UK producer of Nolan: Australia’s Maverick Artist (BBC, ABC and Screen Australia). His other producing credits include primetime drama-documentary Frankenstein and the Vampyre for BBC2 and, as co-producer, the feature documentary Ten Billion for Sky Atlantic, directed by Peter Webber.
