Enchanted by animation from an early age, Iona wrote two feature-length scripts by the age of 18, both mentored by Director John Stevenson of Dreamworks. Pursuing her penchant for storytelling, she graduated from Bournemouth University with a first class degree in screenwriting and a script published at the BFX Festival. At the University, she developed her leadership and mentorship skills in the capacity of Vice President of the Writers Society and Group Leader of the Script Fusion Workshop. She has since gone on to be a researcher, storyboard artist and screenwriter for animation, science and natural history documentaries.

 

Iona’s background training allows her to approach every Amberjack project from a dramatic narrative perspective; always seeking a unique angle to best communicate the stories found in science and nature. Her passion is our planet and the life it shelters. As a writer she seeks to share with audiences, particularly those who are unable to travel, our extraordinary home in all its cinematic, dramatic wonder.
